Írar eru orðnir langþreyttir á hömlulausum fjöldainnflutningi eins og fjölsótt mótmæli víða um land sýna. Í byrjun febrúar fóru þúsundir Íra út á götur til að mótmæla fjöldainnflutningi og afleiðingunum fyrir Írland. Núna lofar nýkjörinn forsætisráðherra að tryggja, að landið innleiði sjálfbærari fólksflutningastefnu.
Einungis 16% Íra vilja „opnari“ fólksflutningastefnu en tæplega 60% vilja strangari stefnu. Margir telja að stjórnmálamenn verði að setja hagsmuni Íra í fyrsta sæti.
Neyðast til að hlusta á fólkið
Írska fréttasíðan breakingnews.ie segir að stjórnmálamennirnir neyðist til að hlusta á fólkið. Þann 9. apríl tekur Simon Harris úr Fine Gael flokknum við embætti forsætisráðherra eftir vinstri-frjálshyggjumnninn Leo Varadkar. Simon Harris lofar breyttri innflytjandastefnu. Hann segir:
„Við verðum að reyna að koma á skipulögðu, sjálfbæru kerfi.“
Ýmislegt er óljóst varðandi breytta stefnu en Harris segir að afgreiðsla hælismála verði fljótvirkari til að sjá hverjir geti aðlagast og hverjir „verði að fara.“
Vill standa fyrir „lög og reglu“
Nýi forsætisráðherrann vill einnig sjá harðari aðgerðir gegn glæpastarfsemi. Ríkisstjórn hans vill meðal annars taka upp nýja lágmarksrefsingu fyrir alvarlegri glæpi sem getur varðað 20 ára fangelsi.

This report is totally misinformed. The new prime minister is from the same political party (fine gael) and is every bit as much of a waste of space as the preceding one.. The ONLY thing the people of Ireland want it to get rid of the entire traitor government. We will be doing exactly that starting at next elections on the 7th June. There will be no ‘victory’ until we are rid of this tyrannical regime in it’s entirety. Even if they somehow manage to cling onto power in June, then they might find themselves facing an armed revolt that will make 1916 like a little picnic 🇮🇪💪

Thank you Paddy for your information. We will continue following what the Iris people want and how their „leaders“ behave. The new prime minister had to react because of all the demonstrations but notice we say in our report that „a lot is unclear about how his promises will fall out.“ We look forwarding reporting on the next elections on the 7th of June.
